De behandeling van de botziekte osteoporose zal de landen van de Europese Unie tientallen miljarden euro’s per jaar gaan kosten. Deze waarschuwing staat in een gepubliceerd rapport van het Internationaal Fonds tegen Osteoporose (IOF). De ziekte berooft de botten van kalk en mineralen, waardoor ze erg broos worden.
